Tamil Nadu Colleges for Final Year students & UG, PG Medical , no dates for schools Reopen

Issuing fresh relaxations, the Tamil Nadu government has announced its decision to reopen colleges for final year students from December 7, 2020. No reopening dates for schools in Tamil Nadu, however, have been announced. Also, the order includes undergraduate classes for all colleges and universities including arts, science, technology, engineering, agriculture, etc.

Also, classes for undergraduate and postgraduate medical and para-medical courses would also commence from December 7 for all students. Hostels have also been granted the permission to reopen. As for the undergraduate classes for first year students or fresh admissions who have been admitted for the 2020-21 academic session, the classes would begin from February 1, 2021. Latest Update: IIT Madras shuts down all departments after 71 people test positive for COVID

Chief Minister K Palaniswami on Monday announced fresh curbs to be effective from December 1, 2020 in regards the various lockdowns. Among the other, he has also relaxed curbs on beaches and tourist places and permitted opening of swimming pools for training purposes. As for the re-opening of schools, no fresh dates have been announced since the government recalled its order to reopen schools for Classes 9 to 12 from November 16.

All Standard Operating Procedures or SOPs as laid out by the central and State Government would have to be followed for reopening of the colleges and hostels. Students are advised to get in touch with their respective colleges for more details and clarification regarding the permissions and SOPs that ought to be followed. Furthermore, restrictions in containment zones would continue.
